College hockey: UMD men slip to No. 3
Minnesota Duluth's stay atop the United States College Hockey Online Division I men's poll was a short one as the Bulldogs dropped to third Monday after tying and losing to Minnesota in a home-and-home series over the weekend.
UMD still garnered eight first-place votes to remain the highest-ranked NCHC team but falling behind Ohio State and Notre Dame in the rankings. The Buckeyes are coached by former UMD assistant Steve Rohlik.
Other ranked NCHC teams include No. 5 St. Cloud State, coached by former UMD assistant Brett Larson, No. 10 Denver, No. 13 North Dakota and No. 18 Western Michigan.
• In the USCHO Division I women's rankings, UMD (2-1-1) remained fourth despite losing and tying No. 3 Minnesota over the weekend at Amsoil Arena.
Top-ranked Clarkson received all 15 first-place votes, followed by four WCHA teams: Wisconsin, Minnesota, UMD and Ohio State.
