The back-to-back national champion Minnesota Duluth men’s hockey team is well represented this week as NHL development camps get underway across the country.

Of the 20 Bulldogs who took the ice for the 3-0 win over Massachusetts in the NCAA title game in Buffalo, N.Y., 13 are at prospect camps this week.

Two future Bulldogs — incoming freshman Luke Loheit and recruit Quinn Olson — are also at camps, bringing UMD’s current total to 15.

The Calgary Flames, Chicago Blackhawks and New Jersey Devils, who hold their camps in mid-July, have yet to announce their rosters, meaning the total number could grow.

Of the 15 Bulldogs attending camps this week, five are free-agent invitees and a sixth — captain Parker Mackay — is a free-agent signee. The other nine are all draft picks, including defenseman Mikey Anderson and forward Riley Tufte, who signed NHL deals in the spring.

In addition to the three local Bulldogs — Scott Perunovich of Hibbing and Dylan Samberg and Cole Koepke of Hermantown — three other Northland draftees are at camps this week.
