Minnesota Duluth senior Zack Friedli of Rochester, Minn., has been named recipient of the 15th Brian Fishman Internship, USA Hockey announced Wednesday.
The internship is awarded annually to a college graduate pursuing a career in athletic communications. It was established in honor of the late Brian Fishman, manager of communications and marketing for USA Hockey's National Team Development Program, who died in 1999 at age 28.
Friedli, who will earn a UMD degree this month, will work one year with USA Hockey's national office in Colorado Springs, Colo., and a year with the National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich. He has worked as an intern in UMD's sports information office and as a contributor to Minnesota Hockey Hub and InsideHockey.com.
