Hockey: U.S. stays alive in Hlinka Cup

The U.S. Under-18 Men's Select Team kept its semifinal hopes alive Tuesday with a 2-1 win over Switzerland during pool play at the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Cup in Breclav, Czech Republic.

Jack Drury and Curtis Hall scored for the United States (1-1) while goaltender Ben Kraws made 14 saves against the Swiss (0-2).

The U.S. plays the Czech Republic (1-1) at noon today in the final game of pool play needing a win to advance out of Group A.

Grand Rapids natives Gavin Hain and Blake McLaughlin and Duluth native Ryder Donovan are members of the U.S. team.
