Hockey: Iron Rangers name coach

Chris Walby of Middleton, Wis., has been named head coach and general manager of the Minnesota Iron Rangers, based in Hoyt Lakes, members of the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

Chris Walby of Middleton, Wis., has been named head coach and general manager of the Minnesota Iron Rangers, based in Hoyt Lakes, members of the Superior International Junior Hockey League.

He replaces Steve Chelios, whose team was 9-45-2 in one season in the league, playing as the Iron Range Ironheads.

Walby, 37, had coached the Middleton High School boys team the past nine years. He also coached the Madison Capitols AAA major midget program in 2011-12.
