Hockey: Hermantown's Biondi finishes with two points in Hlinka Gretzky Cup

Team USA finishes sixth in tournament

The U.S. Under-18 Men’s Select Team finished sixth at the eight-team 2019 Hlinka Gretzky Cup following a 4-3 overtime loss to the Czech Republic in the fifth-place game Friday in Breclav, Czech Republic.

Team USA finished the tournament with one win — 4-3 in overtime against Sweden — in four games. One of the three losses — 5-4 against Sweden — came in a shootout.

Hermantown native and Minnesota Duluth recruit Blake Biondi, a forward, finished the tournament with one goal and one assist in four games. Another Bulldogs recruit, defenseman Wyatt Kaiser of Andover, Minn., finished with no points and an even plus/minus rating in four games.
