The Duluth Chargers saw their season end to the same team that ended their 2013 campaign, St. Louis Park. This year, the Chargers fell to the Orioles 12-6 in the Minnesota Boys Scholastic Lacrosse Association finals Saturday at Irondale High School in New Brighton.
The Chargers (15-1) had worked in practice to stop St. Louis Park points leader Carlos Siquenza, and for one half it worked. The Chargers held Siquenza scoreless in the first half and trailed 3-2 heading into the third quarter.
Siquenza, however, started to find his way open in the second half, scoring four goals as St. Louis Park (15-1) outscored Duluth 9-4 in the final two quarters.
Zack Zierden scored two goals, including a late short-handed score, to lead Duluth, which finished the season with just one loss for the second consecutive season.
