Sazama second in WhistleStop Marathon
Donny Sazama of Hermantown was second in a field of 447 in Saturday's 14th WhistleStop Marathon in Ashland. Mike Bialick of Minnetonka, Minn., won in 2 hours, 40 minutes, 18 seconds, and Sazama was next in 2:45:46, followed by Luke Beirl of Ashland in 2:45:59.
April Cole of Hammond, Ind., led the women's division in 3:06:24 and Alyssa Hogan of Jackson, Wyo., was second in 3:21:07.
In an accompanying half-marathon, Ben Cogger of Washburn, Wis., was first in a field of 1,548 in 1:14:17 and Gregg Robertson of Duluth was second in 1:14:49. DeeAnn Johnson of Winona, Minn., was the first woman in 1:26:02.
