Three Bulldogs were taken on the second and final day of the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal, with Hermantown's Zam Plante going in the fifth round to the Pittsburgh Penguins. A pair of UMD centermen were also drafted as freshman Cole Spicer was selected in the fourth round by the Boston Bruins and sophomore Dominic James was selected in the sixth round by the Chicago Blackhawks.

In softball, Hermantown's Natalie Vitek struck out 17 Bemidji batters in both ends of a doubleheader to record 51 K's in a 24-hour span.
The Eskomos scored eight times in the bottom of the second inning to take control of the game.
The teams will meet Tuesday at the Longview courts for a spot in the Section 7AA semifinals.
