Erik Hartmark of Duluth outpaced a record field of 316 runners and walkers to win the sixth Pumpkin Run on Saturday in Cloquet. He became the event's first three-time winner.
Hartmark covered the five-kilometer race in 16 minutes, 17 seconds, nearly three minutes ahead of runner-up Kenneth Ripp of Cloquet (19:03).
Samantha Smith of Wright won the women's race in 20:49, with Kelly Grinsteinner of Sturgeon Lake second in 23:18.
