Grand Rapids-Greenway forward named Ms. Hockey finalist

Grand Rapids-Greenway forward Dana Gallop was named a top-five finalist for Minnesota's Ms. Hockey, awarded to the state's top high school girls hockey player, the Let's Play Hockey newspaper announced today.

Grand Rapids-Greenway forward Dana Gallop was named a top-five finalist for Minnesota's Ms. Hockey, awarded to the state's top high school girls hockey player, the Let's Play Hockey newspaper announced today.

Gallop, a Grand Rapids senior and Minnesota Duluth recruit, had 25 goals and 22 assists (47 points) for the Lightning during the 2009-10 season. The Lightning finished the season 10-13-1.

Other finalists include defender Rose Alleva of Red Wing, a Princeton recruit; and forwards Bethany Brausen of Roseville (University of Minnesota), Corinne Buie of Edina (Providence) and Gina McDonald of Irondale (Harvard).

The 15th annual Ms. Hockey award will be presented at an awards banquet at 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 28 at the RiverCentre in St. Paul. To order tickets, call Let's Play Hockey at (612) 729-0023.
