Duluth-raised Kara Goucher appears on the cover of the September Runner's World following a Facebook poll this summer. The magazine asked fans which member of the men's and women's U.S. Olympic marathon teams they'd like to see featured.
The leading voters were Ryan Hall for the men and Goucher for the women. An image of each was put on 50 percent of the covers published.
The other team members -- Shalane Flanagan and Desiree Davila for the women, and Meb Keflezighi and Abdi Abdirahman for the men -- are pictured on the inside cover flap.
This is Goucher's fourth time on a Runner's World cover.
