Anthony Ahrens shared medalist honors in leading the St. Scholastica men to victory at the North Central University Invitational title Tuesday at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Ahrens, a junior from Virginia, had not played competitively since last spring due to injury but came out Tuesday and fired a seven-over-par 78 to tie North Central’s Isaac Wright for the victory. Former Proctor High School product Braxton Sathers also recorded his first top-five finish of the season by tying for fourth with an 81. Teammate Vinny Billing was 12th with an 85 while Spencer Viita of Cook tied for 13th with an 86 to round out the scoring as the Saints edged Martin Luther 331-332 in the team standings.

Wisconsin-River Falls won the women’s team title with a 372, while Wisconsin-Superior was fourth with a 418. Olivia Wright of International Falls led St. Scholastica with a 19-over 90, tying for fourth, and fellow freshman Ruby Mohelsky of Moose Lake tied for 10th with a personal-best 97, but with only three three golfers competing the Saints didn’t factor into the team standings.
