College golf: CSS women, UWS men win UMAC titles
The St. Scholastica women and Wisconsin-Superior men claimed UMAC titles Saturday on the third and final day of the conference championships at Pebble Creek Golf Club in Becker, Minn.
The Saints improved by six strokes Saturday to finish the three rounds with a score of 1,085 to win their third straight title. Hannah Johnson of St. Scholastica won medalist honors with a final score of 43-over-par after shooting a day-low round of 86 Saturday to finish three strokes ahead of teammate Kylie Slavin.
UWS won a one-hole playoff with Northwestern to win the men's title. Joey Cummings placed third with a score of 227, and Ryan Peterson was right behind him with a 228 in fourth. The Yellowjackets qualify for the NCAA Division III tournament, which takes place in May 2019.
CSS finished third 20 strokes back.
