Topher Baron edged closer to a second Northland Invitational title in three years by beating fellow Hermantown native Alex Kolquist in a match-play quarterfinal Saturday at Northland Country Club.
Baron will meet Tyler Hill, who defeated Dylan Kolquist, in this morning's semifinals. Jack Gustafson, who downed Duluthian Derek Farrell, and Brian Moores will meet in the other semifinal. Moores beat Ryan Williamson.
Semifinal champions will face off in an 18-hole match-play final at 1 p.m.
