Schneider advances at MGA Players' Championship

Matt Schneider of Pokegama Golf Course in Grand Rapids has advanced through two rounds at the 34th MGA Players' Championship on Monday at Windsong Farm Golf Club in Independence, Minn.

Schneider won both his matches 2-up, beating George Fortier V of Little Falls in the opener and Blake Onkka of Bunker Hills in the second round as the field was reduced from 64 to 16 for two more rounds today. The semifinals and finals are set for Wednesday.

Steve Barschdorf of Duluth's Enger Park Golf Course lost 4 and 3 to Dylan Gergen of Southview in Mondayh's opening round.
