Girls basketball: Plasch, Tigers start fast en route to win over Ladysmith

Sophomore guard turns in all-around game for Northwestern.

Sophomore guard Tieryn Plasch had 24 points, eight rebounds and four steals to lead Northwestern to a 61-45 Heart O’ North Conference victory over Ladysmith in high school girls basketball Friday, Dec. 11, in Maple.

Gracie Altman added 11 points and Brynn Erickson added seven points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (2-1), who were coming off a 74-30 victory Tuesday, Dec. 8, at Spooner.

Kendall Sletten (eight points, seven rebounds) and Allison Luoma (six points, six rebounds) provided added scoring and rebounding for Northwestern, which led 30-19 at the half.

Sophomore guard Raemalee Smith had 27 points to lead Ladysmith (0-2).
