Get Outdoors: Northland Paddlers Alliance hosts community paddle Wednesday

GO! Birding at Hawk Ridge, 9:30-11 a.m. Aug. 26, Hawk Ridge Trail, Duluth. Generations Outside is a program for ages 55 and over and their youth grandchildren ages 6 and up focused on building generational relationships between grandparents and grandchildren through outdoor activities. Informal Community Paddle, 6 p.m. Aug. 26, Barkers Island Marina, 250 Marine Drive, Superior. All paddle disciplines and skill levels are welcome to this event, hosted by the Northland Paddlers Alliance. Paddlers will launch from the boat ramp at Barkers Island; launch fee required for those transporting by trailer. The St. Louis River Alliance will provide water trail maps.

Minnesota Department of Natural Resources turkey stamp contest: Turkey stamp artwork entries will be accepted Sept. 21 to Oct. 2. Stamp sales benefit fish and wildlife habitat work. The stamps can be purchased in combination with a hunting or fishing license, or as collectables.
