The Grandma's Marathon annual Gearing Up for Grandma's training seminar for citizen and elite runners is March 6 at the St. Mary's-Duluth Clinic Health System's First Street Building at 420 E. First St.
The free event is 9-11 a.m. and will feature 2010 U.S. Half-Marathon champion Antonio Vega of St. Paul. Vega, 26, was first in the 13.1-mile championships race in
1 hour, 1 minute and 54 seconds on Jan. 17 in Houston.
Also appearing is former St. Scholastica athlete Jen Houck of Duluth, who placed 15th in the 2010 U.S. Half-Marathon Championships women's division, and has been in the top 15 of the Garry Bjorklund Half-Marathon the past three years.
