Former Hermantown High School assistant golf coach Kyle Gordon Ernst has pleaded not guilty in Scott County District Court to furnishing alcohol to someone younger than 21.

Ernst was arrested in June after a Shakopee, Minn., police officer deemed he had been drinking with members of the Hermantown girls and boys golf teams at a hotel. Police obtained camera footage of Ernst buying more than two cases of beer and a 12-pack of hard lemonade.

The Hermantown School Board terminated its volunteer coaching agreement with Ernst after the incident.

A spokeswoman in the Scott County Attorney's Office said Ernst's next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 27.
