Senior running back Colin Trautt rushed for 149 yards and two touchdowns, and the host Tigers got downright defensive in handing the Rails their first loss of the season as both teams are now 4-1 in the Heart O’ North Conference.
Northwestern, which had 240 yards of offense and turned the ball over three times, held Spooner to just 36 yards while forcing four turnovers.
Tanner Kaufman, Titus Graden and Austin Schlies had fumble recoveries and Jase Nelson had an interception to lead the Tigers’ defensive effort.
