A total of seven athletes at the University of Minnesota have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a press release sent out by the school on Tuesday night.
It’s unclear which sports these athletes play, though the press release did confirm positive tests across multiple sports.
This came as a result of 170 administered tests, according to the press release, and the athletes with confirmed cases will self-isolate. They will undergo additional screening and will need to be cleared by a team physician before returning to team activities.
In the meantime, the athletes will have access to all the necessary resources and food, according to the press release.
This is the first confirmed cases of COVID-19 among athletes at the University of Minnesota.
