The St. Scholastica football team plays its final road game of 2019 against Minnesota Morris (1-7, 1-5 UMAC) at 1 p.m. Saturday at Big Cat Stadium in Morris.
The Saints (6-2, 4-2 UMAC), currently tied with MacMurray for third in the conference, was eliminated from playoff contention when Martin Luther defeated UMM 49-0 last week.
The Saints are winding down their season on a roll. They piled up 530 total yards in a 61-8 home win over Iowa Wesleyan last weekend, and they scored two defensive touchdowns. CSS is averaging almost 311 passing yards per game, which ranks 19th in NCAA Division III.
Quarterback Zach Edwards threw for 421 yards and four touchdowns and he is ranked No. 2 in Division III completing an average of 26.8 passes per game.
Receiver Mitchell Adrian ranks second nationally averaging 10.5 receptions per game and he holds the CSS season record with 84 catches. His counterpart Eddie Lee is five receptions short of surpassing the school record of 130 career catches.
Linebacker Eric Soderberg ranks second nationally averaging 14.1 tackles per game and he needs two stops to eclipse the school single-season record of 114 tackles. Linebacker Chase Kleppe forced his fifth fumble last week, which ranks second in Division III.
The Saints cap the season against MacMurray at noon, Nov. 16, at Public Schools Stadium.
