College football: On the road again, Saints open UMAC play

St. Scholastica opens UMAC play against Crown College at 1 p.m. today at KleinBank Stadium in St. Bonifacius, Minn.

The Saints dropped their season opener 33-29 last week at Mayville (N.D.) State as Creighton Pfau passed for 206 yards and four touchdowns while adding 16 carries for 106 yards and another score. St. Scholastica junior quarterback Zach Edwards threw for 308 yards and two scores but it wasn't enough as the Saints lost a game in which they scored at least four touchdowns for only the sixth time in program history.

This is the second straight week the Saints are playing a team with a 15-game losing streak, and they're searching for their eighth straight victory in UMAC openers.

St. Scholastica (0-1) only managed 43 rushing yards last week and but look to change that against a Crown team that has yielded 439 yards on the ground through two games this season.

Crown (0-2) fell 42-14 last week at Presentation as the Storm turned the ball over five times while giving up 495 yards of offense.
