Ely eliminated in Legion tournament
Three runs in the top of the eighth inning propelled Pratt (Kan.) to an 8-5 win over Ely in the American Legion Division II Great Lakes Regional in Viroqua, Wis. Ely (22-11) lost its first two games of the tournament and was eliminated.
Shortstop Trevor Bernsdorf led Ely with three hits, including a home run. Nick Mathews, Wes Snyder and Greg Helget had two hits each. Losing pitcher Alex Korshak allowed 12 hits and struck out five in eight innings.
Skylar Angood had three hits, including a home run, for Pratt (33-4).
