Here's hoping all those running-through-the-woods scenes from the "Friday the 13th" movies didn't scare you too much.
The fifth annual Nature Trax 10K, 5K and kids trail races are Oct. 6 at Hartley Nature Center in Duluth.
Competitors can sign up as individuals or teams for the 10-kilometer race .
The course will take you past trees, across boardwalks and through meadows -- all sans Jason Voorhees. But even though he won't be there, you're encouraged to look out for roots and rocks or anything else that could cause you to fall.
The event is volunteer-managed and benefits the nature center's mission of providing opportunities for understanding, appreciation and stewardship of the natural world.
