Eau Claire's Matt Fritz reached base on a throwing error to open the bottom of the 10th inning and scored the winning run in the Express' 3-2 victory over the Duluth Huskies in a Northwoods League baseball game Friday night at Carson Park in Eau Claire, Wis.
Outfielder Brooks Pinckard hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to tie the game 2-2 and force extra innings -- the Huskies' fourth extra-inning game of the season.
The Huskies, who earlier had a man thrown out at the plate, had runners on second and third with no outs in the top of the 10th inning but failed to score.
Reliever Alex Kent, who started the 10th, took the loss and reliever Tim Clark allowed Robbie Knight's game-winning hit.
The teams meet again at 6:35 p.m. today.
