Duluth bowlers swept the titles in Sunday’s 35th annual Duluth/Superior Women’s All-Star Bowling Challenge at Stadium Lanes in Duluth.
It was a reversal of last year’s event, in which Superior won both the regular and senior crowns.
In Sunday’s regular all-star match, Duluth’s Renee Randa, Crystal Johnson, Theresa Jacobson, Heidi Shaw and Nicolle Mattson defeated Superior’s Vicky Schold, Julie Meysman, Barb Hoag, Lezlee Nelson, Carolyn Jones and Becky Feller 2,848 pins to 2,589. Superior still holds the series advantage at 18-17.
In the seniors competition, Duluth won and gained a 3-2 series advantage. Duluth’s Elaine Haglund, Dorothy Carpenter, Bernie Chandler, Denise Hanson and Cindy Levy defeated Superior’s Jan Christianson, Brenda Geisler, Sue Olson, Cathy Meysman and Rhonda Feller 2,547 pins to 2,483.
