The Duluth Police Department is reminding hunters to refrain from storing guns in vehicles.

Police have received two reports of stolen firearms at night in the past week, one involving a hunter who had packed a vehicle the night before leaving to hunt.

Hunting season can increase instances of guns being left in vehicles, police said.

In this case a shotgun was taken from a vehicle on the 200 block of North 11th Avenue West through a window the prowler broke out.

In the other gun theft this week, a rifle was taken from a home on the 700 block of West Skyline Drive, according to police.
