J.D. Foldesi won two events to lead the Duluth Denfeld boys to the championship of the Hibbing Invitational on Saturday. The Hunters' girls squad placed second to Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin.
Foldesi, a junior, won the 100- and 400-meter dashes in 11.60 and 52.30 seconds, respectively, while teammates Tommy Jackson (1,600, 4:46.20), Connor Behm (800, 2:05.30) and Ben Lepisto (3,200, 10:55.70) also claimed first-place finishes. The Hunters also had the winning 800 and 1,600 relay teams as they scored 160.5 points. Host Hibbing was second in the 11-team event with 102.5 points.
Lisa Indrevag, a senior, finished first in the 3,200 (13:59.50) to pace the Denfeld girls with 130.5 points, trailing only Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin's 149.5.
