Duluth Central pitcher earns win over Hermantown

Jake Snyder was 4-for-4 with four RBIs and earned the victory with a two-hitter over five innings as Duluth Central defeated Hermantown 13-1 in Lake Superior Conference high school baseball action in Hermantown.

Snyder struck out seven as Central (12-3) won its 11th consecutive game.

Jake Lewis threw a five-hitter and Lucas McCarthy was 3-for-3 to guide the Rails to the LSC win at Bulldog Park.

Pat Mahoney scattered seven hits in the loss.

Floodwood 3, Two Harbors 1

Josh Bailey outdueled Fordes Lodin as the Polar Bears won the Polar League game at Two Harbors.

Bailey tossed a five-hitter for Floodwood (5-7), which was aided by Craig Campbell's two RBIs.

Duluth Denfeld 5, Duluth Marshall 0

Laura Bellamy tossed a one-hitter and struck out 16 as the Hunters (13-4) won the first of two LSC games at Wade Field.

Steph Carlson struck out 11 in recording the loss for the Hilltoppers, whose only hit came by Maggie Lane.

    Megan Mullen fired a six-inning three-hitter and struck out 12 as the Hawks (16-2, 6-0) clinched a share of the LSC title at Central.

    Mullen scored three runs and teammate Sam Downey had three hits, two runs and two RBS.

    Esko 8, Barnum 1

    Kelsey Saralampi registered 11 strikeouts as the Eskomos handed the visiting Bombers their first loss of the season.

    Kortney Lindberg and Katyanna Emanuel each had two RBIs for Esko (13-5).

    The Polar Bears scored six runs in the first two innings and held on to win the Polar League game at Two Harbors.
