Northland drag racers Greg Anderson and Jason Line had disappointing finishes Monday to lose in the quarterfinal round of the National Hot Rod Association U.S. Nationals Pro Stock division at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis.
Anderson of Duluth, despite a faster time by two-thousandths of a second and a faster speed of nearly 1 mph, lost to Jeg Coughlin Jr. due to a slower reaction time at the start. It was the 97th time the veteran racers had met in eliminations.
Line of Wright red-lighted at the start to lose to eventual event winner Tanner Gray.
