Drag racing: Line comes up short in final

Dave Connolly closed the gap on Jason Line atop the National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock point standings by defeating the Wright native in Sunday’s final of the Midwest Nationals in Madison, Ill.
Connolly’s Chevy Camaro was timed in 6.562 seconds at a speed of 211.53 mph, edging Line by three-thousandths of a second.
With the win, Connolly cut Line’s points lead to 26.
