Do it: Take a canyon walk

Here's a nice short hike along a very cool river. There's a spur of the Superior Hiking Trail that runs from Minnesota Highway 61 for .7 miles up to the main Superior Hiking Trail along the Kadunce River east of Grand Marais (near milepost 119). Park at the small wayside and hike up and down, peering into the spectacular gorge of the river. For more information, go to www.shta.org .
