Duluthian Cory Christensen's women's team improved to 3-0 at the USA Curling National Championships with a 10-6 win over Christine McMakin on Monday at Scheels Arena in Fargo, N.D.
Christensen shares the top spot in the round-robin standings with Jamie Sinclair.
The Cora Ferrell rink, which includes Duluth's Lexi Lanigan and Rebecca Miles, lost 10-6 to Sinclair to fall to 2-1.
In men's play, the Heath McCormick rink with Duluth's Chris Plys and Korey Dropkin beat Kroy Nernberger's team that includes Duluth's Quinn Evenson 5-4 to improve to 3-1. Bemidji's Pete Fenson's team, which includes Shawn Rojeski of Chisholm, is also 3-1 despite losing Monday.
• The U.S. men's team, which includes Duluth's Jonathan Harstad, lost for the first time Monday at the World Junior Championships in Aberdeen, Scotland. Andrew's Stopera's rink lost 4-2 to Canada's Tyler Tardi to fall to 3-1 in the round-robin standings. The U.S. men take on Sweden (2-2) and Scotland (4-0) today.
