Wisconsin-Superior's dominant position in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference women's soccer standings was reflected with a dominant position in the all-conference team, released on Tuesday.

Six of the 11 first-team selections were Yellowjackets, led by defensive player of the year Lindrey Schendel, a junior. Coach Allison DeGroot was the coach of the year. The Yellowjackets have given up just 0.82 goals per game as they went unbeaten through conference play for the second consecutive season.

Other first-team selections included forwards Mya Holmquist and Niya Wilson, midfielder Allison Alessi, defender Halley Carlson and goalkeeper Jenna Lang.

Defender Tori Vosburg was a second-team selection, while forward Kamryn Hill received honorable mention.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
