DULUTH — Minnesota Duluth stormed out of the gates on Sunday, scoring four times in the first 15 minutes of a 4-0 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rout of Minnesota Crookston at Malosky Stadium.

Jacqueline Jares orchestrated much of the offense, scoring once and assisting goals from Eliana Maricano and Myra Moorjani. Maricano's opener came less than five minutes into the game, with Jares scoring in her own right less than six minutes later.

The Golden Eagles added to their misery with an own goal in the 17th minute before Moorjani scored the first goal of her collegiate career.

That ended the scoring, though the Bulldogs took seven shots in the second half, putting two of them on frame.

UMC kept the other net busy, with Elaina Benson and Jennifer Norris recording two saves apiece for the Bulldogs.

UMD (4-5-2, 3-3-2 NSIC) continues its homestand next weekend with a Friday night game vs. Concordia-St. Paul.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "staff." Often, the "staff" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
