College women's soccer: UMD shuts out Northern State

Freshman Erin Walpole of Superior and Emily Hinz scored goals as Minnesota Duluth controlled play in a 2-0 NSIC victory over Northern State on Friday in Aberdeen, S.D.

Sophia Grenz only faced one shot in goal for the Bulldogs (4-6 overall, 2-5 NSIC).

Goalkeeper Morgan Bury stopped four shots for the Wolves (3-6, 1-5).

  • Three Duluthians scored goals in St. Scholastica's 3-0 UMAC victory over Martin Luther College on Friday at Saints Field.

McKenzie Nelson netted the opening goal in the fourth minute, Morgan Friday tallied in the 33rd and Brea Archer knocked in the final goal in the 70th minute.
Goalie Alexa Gothard only faced one shot for CSS (8-6, 5-0 UMAC), which stayed in first place in the conference.

The Knights fell to 5-6 and 2-1.
