College women's soccer: 'Kicks for Causes' returns to UMD pitch

Duluth's Life House will open Minnesota Duluth's fourth season of 'Kicks for Causes' at Malosky Stadium when the Bulldogs begin the 2017 season at 1 p.m. Thursday against Wisconsin-Parkside.

Life House is a Duluth-based nonprofit that works with homeless and street youth ages 14-24. Life House will have a booth at the game to accept donations. Bulldogs junior defender Lizzy Fontes is organizing the event.

Since 2014, the UMD women's soccer program has used designated home matches to promote awareness and help fundraise for local organizations and causes. Each 'Kicks for Causes' event is put on by a current or former member of the team.
