Minnesota Duluth senior defenseman Megan Helberg scored 1 minute and 57 seconds into Saturday’s game at Minnesota State-Moorhead, and senior forward Maureen Stormont tallied her fourth goal of the season in the 18th minute as the Bulldogs prevailed 4-0 in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference play.
Sophomore midfielder Marissa Ganske and junior forward Sheridan Reiners added goals in the 55th and 57th minutes, respectively. Stormont assisted on both goals to tie Nicole Fietz (2000-03) for third on the program’s all-time career points list at 103. Stormont is second on the career goals list with 43 and is nine points shy of the 125 scored by Jenny Warrick from 1998-2001.
Freshman goalkeeper Jordan Melby made one save for the Bulldogs (2-3 overall, 2-0 NSIC).
r Senior forward Jayln Britton scored in the 48th and 67th minutes to lead St. Scholastica over Northwestern 3-0 and improve to 3-0 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference. Senior forward Angie Toepper scored in the 63rd minute for the Saints (3-5) and junior goalie Kelsey Reeves made one save.
