Boston College rallied with the final three goals, including a short-handed score with one second to play, to defeat Minnesota Duluth 3-2 Sunday afternoon in a nonconference college women's hockey game before 919 fans at Amsoil Arena. That gave the No. 5-ranked Eagles (1-1) of Hockey East a split in the series.

No. 7 UMD (1-1) led 1-0 after one period on an Audrey Cournoyer goal and was up 2-0 just 83 seconds into the second period as freshman defenseman Brigette Lacquette scored her first collegiate goal.

A short-handed goal got Boston College within 2-1 after two periods. Emily Pfalzer scored with 2:51 to play, and Alex Carpenter got the game winner just before time expired.

UMD senior goalie Jennifer Harss had 23 saves and Corinne Boyles of the Eagles had 27.

The Bulldogs are on the road Friday and Saturday in a nonconference series against Connecticut.
