College women's basketball: UMD ranked No. 2 in Central Region

Minnesota Duluth holds the No. 2 spot in the NCAA Division II Central Region rankings released Wednesday.

The Bulldogs (21-5) are ranked below only Central Missouri (18-4). Sioux Falls (23-4) of the NSIC is No. 3 and Emporia State (16-5) is No. 4. Another of UMD's NSIC rivals, St. Cloud State (18-5), is ranked No. 6.

UMD plays at Minnesota Crookston at 5:30 p.m. Friday and at Bemidji State at 3:30 p.m. Saturday to wrap up the regular season. The NSIC tournament begins Feb. 26, and the Division II tournament begins March 13.
