South Shore native Megan Gustafson scored 27 points as Iowa fended off a third-quarter challenge and went on to cruise past third-seeded North Carolina State 79-61 on Saturday in the Greensboro Regional semifinal at Greensboro, N.C.
Gustafson, who also pulled in 12 rebounds, shot 10-for-13 from the field and made all seven of her free-throw attempts. She tied the NCAA women's record for double-doubles in a season with 33.
Second-seeded Iowa (29-6) meets top-seeded Baylor in Monday night's regional final.
Hannah Stewart poured in 16 points to go with 11 rebounds and Tania Davis added 10 points for the Hawkeyes, who shot 54.4 percent from the field. Kathleen Doyle and Makenzie Meyer each chipped in nine points.
Baylor 93, South Carolina 68

Racing out to a 26-point halftime lead, top-seeded Baylor drilled fourth-seeded South Carolina at Greensboro, N.C.
All five starters scored in double figures for the Bears (34-1), led by Didi Richards' 25 points on 11-for-14 shooting. Kalani Brown scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for a double-double, while Lauren Cox stuffed the stat sheet with 17 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
Te'a Cooper scored 17 points for the Gamecocks (23-10), which endured their second lopsided loss of the season to the Bears.
Notre Dame 87, Texas A&M 80
Guard Arike Ogunbowale scored a career-high 34 points to lead No. 1 seed Notre Dame to the Sweet 16 victory in the Chicago Regional.
The game was tied at 69 in the fourth quarter before Ogunbowale scored five consecutive points on a 3-pointer and a fast-break layup after she stole the ball. The Irish were able to maintain at least a five-point lead for the final 6:07.
Ogunbowale made 14 of 26 shots from the field.
Senior forward Jessica Shepard contributed 24 points, 14 rebounds and six assists for the Irish. Jackie Young had 14 points and eight rebounds.

Stanford 55, Missouri State 46
Stanford survived a miserable offensive performance and managed to put away from the equally inept 11th-seeded Lady Bears in their Chicago Regional semifinal.
Stanford won despite shooting just 25.0 percent from the floor.

Oregon 63, South Dakota State 53
Oregon advanced to its third consecutive Elite Eight appearance behind 24 points and 14 rebounds from Ruthy Hebard in a West Regional semifinal Friday night at Portland, Ore.
The second-seeded Ducks (32-4) will face No. 1 Mississippi State (33-2) today for a spot in the Final Four. No. 6 South Dakota State, the first Summit League team to make the Sweet 16, finishes its season 28-7.
Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu had 17 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds. She has 18 triple-doubles in her career, including two in the NCAA tournament.

Macy Miller had 19 points and seven rebounds to lead South Dakota State, which played in its first Sweet 16 game in program history.
