College volleyball: UMD rebounds to beat Sioux Falls

The Bulldogs (16-4 overall, 9-2 NSIC), who lost the night before to Southwest Minnesota State, rebounded to win 25-21, 25-21, 25-13.

Emily Torve totaled 44 set assists in the sweep.

Bria Barfknecht led the Cougars (12-7, 7-4) with 13 kills.

• Wisconsin-Superior made quick work of Bethany Lutheran College, winning 25-17, 25-15, 25-16 in a UMAC match at Mankato, Minn. Brylee Colligan totaled 14 kills and Emily VerWay had 31 set assists for the Yellowjackets (15-8, 10-1 UMAC), who hit .324 overall as a team. Megan Rutt's 15 kills led the Vikings (6-14, 4-7).

UWS then blew a two-set lead in losing to St. Olaf 23-25, 19-25, 25-15, 25-18, 15-12 in nonconference action in Mankato. Taylor Howe and Cami Sletta had 17 kills apiece and VerWay tallied 46 assists for the Yellowjackets.

• The University of Northwestern swept St. Scholastica 25-16, 25-13, 26-24 in St. Paul to remain unbeaten in UMAC play. Mariah Halvorsen paced the Eagles (16-5, 11-0) with 16 kills. CSS slipped to 7-13 and 5-6.
