College volleyball: UMD cruises to NSIC win

Minnesota Duluth made quick work of Augustana College, sweeping the Vikings 25-22, 25-20, 25-14 in NSIC action Saturday at Sioux Falls, S.D.

Kate Berg led the seventh-ranked Bulldogs (17-2 overall, 10-1 NSIC) with 11 kills and Emily Balts had 39 set assists.

UMD hit .325 in the first two sets, while Augustana (12-8, 5-6) hit .144 for the match.

  • Wisconsin-Superior swept Bethany Lutheran College 25-11, 25-14, 25-23 in UMAC action at Mertz Mortorelli Gym.

Cami Sletta and Cassy Teff had 10 kills each for the Yellowjackets (11-15, 1-5), who won their first conference match of the season.
Megan Rutt's 11 kills led the Vikings (9-15, 2-5).

  • St. Benedict came to Reif Gym and handed St. Scholastica a 25-16, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20 nonconference loss.

Hunter Weiss and Madison Weiss combined on 31 kills for 12th-ranked St. Benedict (18-4).
Jessica Remer led the Saints (14-6) with 10 kills.
