College volleyball: Saints bounce back to down Yellowjackets in four sets

Remer tough offensively and defensively for St. Scholastica.


Jessica Remer had 16 kills and 23 digs as St. Scholastica bounced back from an early setback to down Wisconsin-Superior 17-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-20 UMAC victory Thursday night before 44 at Reif Gymnasium.

Ashley Larson added a career-high 13 kills and Haley Rohwer was terrific up front with six kills and a career-high seven blocks for the Saints (4-0 overall, 4-0 UMAC). Katie Brostrom paced the offense with 39 set assists while adding 18 digs, while Alcia Draper had 28 digs.

Alexie Pryd had 16 kills and 24 digs and Megan Holz had 36 set assists and 23 digs to lead the Yellowjackets (5-1, 3-1). After UWS blistered the nets with a .282 attack percentage in the opening set, the Saints changed things around and wound up holding the Yellowjackets to a .059 attack percentage for the match.

The match featured 15 ties and eight lead changes and in a statistical anomaly, each team finished with 44 set assists, eight blocks and four aces.
