College volleyball: Eagles trip up Saints in five sets

Northwestern topped St. Scholastica 23-25, 25-19, 15-25, 25-21, 15-8 in a battle of Upper Midwest Athletic Conference unbeatens Friday night in St. Paul.

Paige Hardy paced the Saints (14-6 overall, 4-1 UMAC) with 17 kills and 12 digs, while Anna Zyvoloski added 13 kills and 19 digs. Setter Sarah Kurtovich dished out 39 assists. Chelsea Koth led the Eagles (19-2, 7-0) with 21 kills.

The loss snapped the Saints' string of 18 straight regular season UMAC victories. St. Scholastica's previous regular season UMAC loss was Oct. 31, 2009 to the Eagles.

The Saints and Eagles now have an all-time series record of 41-41-1.
