Minnesota Duluth announced Tuesday the addition of Kimberly (Wis.) High School senior Brianna Weyenberg to its incoming recruiting class.
Weyenberg, a 6-foot-1 middle blocker from nearby Appleton, Wis., spent the last four years as a force up front for the Papermakers, tallying 69 blocks, 146 kills and a .353 hitting percentage as they advanced to the Wisconsin Division 1 state quarterfinals last fall.
Weyenberg joins Meredith Sutton (Grand Marais), Summer Ballard (Crystal, Minn.), Madison Gordon (New Berlin, Wis.), Sydney Lanoue (Tracy, Minn.) and Brooke Scheurer (Rice Lake, Wis.) in the largest freshman class under UMD coach Jim Boos since 2007.
