Minnesota Duluth fell into a two-set hole and couldn't dig out, falling in four sets at St. Cloud State on Thursday in St. Cloud.
The Huskies (18-4, 10-4), ranked No. 11 in this week's AVCA NCAA Division II poll, prevailed 25-22, 26-24, 22-25, 25-19. UMD (19-3, 12-2) entered the match ranked No. 3 in the AVCA poll.
UMD had more than 30 additional attacks and 10 more kills than the Huskies, but the Bulldogs also committed twice as many attack errors (36-18) and the Huskies held a 13-5 edge in blocks.
The Bulldogs entered the night on a six-match win streak and had won 18 of their previous 19 matches. It was UMD's first loss since a five-set home setback to No. 7-ranked Northern State on Oct. 11.
UMD's Kate Berg finished with 18 kills and Hanna Meyer had 13. Emily Balts had 54 set assists and Keena Seiffert had 27 digs.
