Place finishes 12th in NCAA 10,000 meters
Minnesota Duluth senior Morgan Place of Ellsworth, Wis., finished 12th in a field of 17 Thursday night in the women's 10,000-meter event at the NCAA Division II outdoor track and field championships in Pueblo, Colo.
Grand Valley State senior Rachel Patterson won in 34 minutes, 55.03 seconds and Western State senior Lauren Kleppin was one second back in 34:56.86. Place, in her 12th NCAA championships in track and cross country, finished in 37:26.31. Her personal best is 35:05.94.
